Chinese New Years Dinner
Saturday February 9 7 pm Chinese New Years Dinner Come enjoy a multi-course dinner celebrating the Chinese new year. The dinner will be at the Imperial Inn restaurant at 146 N 10th St. in Chinatown, and will cost around $38. In order to go on this event you need to RSVP to Gale at 215-331-9194.

Thursday February 21 9:00 am Girard College Museum/Thomas Eakin's House/Philadelphia Contributorship/Atheneum/Gershman Y Art Exhibit and Reception We will meet at 9:00 at Founders' Hall, Girard College, Corinthinian and Girard Avenues, Philadelphia, PA, 19127,, 215-925-787-2600 to look at Stephen Girard's museum collection from his shipping business (his main income from the opium trade). Afterwards, we will go to the Thomas Eakin's House (now the main offices of the Mural Arts Program), 1729 Mt. Vernon St, Phila, PA 19130,, 215-685-0780. At 3:00, we will take a free tour of the Philadelphia Contributorship, 201 South 4th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19106, 267-765-4586 or 215-627-1752 X1286, Carol Smith, The Contributorship is the oldest and first fire insurance company in Philadelphia. At 4:30, we will go to the Athenaeum of Philadelphia, 219 South 6th Street, Philadelphia, PA, 19106,, 215-925-2688 to see a free exhibit on "The Art of the Fan: Beyond the Victorian Lady." The Athenaeum is a special collections architectural and interior design library specializing in the years 1800-1945. At 6:00, we will go to the Gershman YMHA, Broad & Pine Streets, Phila, PA 19147,, 215-545-4500, to see the photography of Laurence Saltzman (20 years of the Sephardic Turkish Community) and Micaela Amateau Amato (Los Chuetas, Jews of Majorka 15th Century to Today in glass, neon and ceramic). Mountain Reserve Park/High Mountain Wilderness Area/Chinese Opera Painting
Sunday March 3 10:00 am Hike through Mountain Reserve Park/High Mountain Wilderness Area to Buttermilk Falls and Chinese New Year's Reception/Chinese Opera Painting We will meet at 10:00 at the entranceway of the Ben Shahn Center for the Visual Arts, William Patterson University, 300 Pompton Blvd, Wayne, NJ 07470, 973-720-2000 and carpool over to the hiking area on College Road and do our hike. From 2:00-4:00, we will go to the free reception and look at the Chinese Opera Art at the Ben Shahn Center. Wear layers of clothes, pack water, lunch and dinner, wear sneakers.
