Jenny Jump State Park/Observatory

Saturday May 11 11:30 am  BJs-Free Grilled Cheese Sandwiches/Jenny Jump State Park/Observatory We will meet at 11:30, at BJs Marketplace, 325 Marketplace Blvd, Trenton, NJ 08691, to get free grilled cheese sandwiches from the Land O' Lakes Truck. From 8:00-10:00, we will go to the Observatory and look through the telecope and listen to a presentation given by the United Astronomy Clubs of NJ. Farm School
Saturday May 11 11:00 am Annual Country Fair at the Walter Biddle Saul high school of agricultural sciences at 7100 Henry Ave., which is at Henry and Cinnaminson in Roxborough. Enjoy a hay ride, plant sale, rodeo demonstration, petting zoo, flee market, Bar-b-que chicken dinner, and more. We will meet at 11:00 at the school sign which is in front of the dairy barn across Henry Ave. from the main school building. If weather permits, we will go for a walk in Valley Green afterwards. Saturday May 18 10 am  Cora Hartshorne Arboretum/Drew University and Gardens/St Elizabeth College-Farleigh Dickinson University and Gardens We will meet at 10:00 at the Cora Hartshorne Aboretum, 324 Forest Drive South, Short Hills, NJ 07078, 973-376-3587, www.hartshornarboretum.com. At 1:00, we will go to Florence and Robert Zuck Arboretum, Drew University, 36 Madison Avenue, Madison, NJ 07940. The Florence and Robert Zuck Arboretum is next to Loantanka Park (a lovely park, which we visited in the wintertime). At 3:00, we will go to the Shakespeare Gardens, St Elizabeth College (adjacent to Farleigh Dickinson University), 2 Convent Road, Convent Station, NJ 07961, 973-292-6300, 973-290-4000. Visitor Center/Solar Viewing/Hiking at Washington Crossing Historic Park, PA and Washington Crossing State Park, NJ
Saturday May 25 10 am Visitor Center/Solar Viewing/Hiking at Washington Crossing Historic Park, PA and Washington Crossing State Park, NJ We will meet at 10:00 at the new Visitor Center, Washington Crossing Historic Park, 1112 River Road, Washington Crossing, PA 18977, 215-495-4076, www.ushistory.org/washingtoncrossing/. Afterwards, we will walk across the bridge to the NJ side for the 1:00 Solar Viewing Activity. We will meet at the visitor center, Washington Crossing State Park, 355 Washington Crossing-Pennington Road (Route 29), Titusville, NJ 08560-1517, 609-737-0623, www.nj.gov/dep/parksandforests/parks/washcros.html. We will see sun spots, solar flares, prominences and hear a speech by Gene Ramsey of the Amateur Astronomer's Association of Princeton on how these solar storms affect us here on earth. At 3:00, we will go for a hike in the park. If you decide to come at 1:00 to the solar presentation and observation, the parking fee on the NJ side is $5.
