Old Swede's Church/Mario Lanza Museum/Mural Arts Walking Tour
Saturday December 29 10 am Old Swede's Church (Gloria Dei)/Mario Lanza Museum/Mural Arts Walking Tour We will meet at 10 am at the entranceway of the Old Swede's Church (Gloria Dei), Columbus Blvd & Christian Street, Philadelphia, PA 19147, 215-389-1513, www.nps.gov/glde/index/htm and see the church. The cost is free. At 11:00, we will go to the Mario Lanza Museum, Columbus House, 712 Montrose Street, 1st Floor, Philadelphia, PA 19147, 215-238-9691, www.marilanzainstitute.org and do the free self-guided tour. Afterwards, we will walk the free mural arts mile tour backwards, beginning at 6th and South. Pack a picnic lunch, snacks and water. Wear layers of clothes. New Years Day
Monday December 31 2012 11:00 am New Years Day Events  At 11:00, we meet at the entranceway to the Betsy Ross House, 3rd & Arch Streets, Philadelphia, PA 19106, 215-629-4026, http://www.historicphiladelphia.org/ for some free birthday cake in honor of Betsy's birthday. We will then see and tour the house. The cost is free. At 12:00, we will tour Franklin Square, 6th & Race Streets, Phila, PA 19106. The cost is also free. At 2:00, we will go to the historic Christ Church and Burial Grounds, 2nd, 5th & Market Streets, Philadelphia, PA 19106, 215-922-1695, http://www.christchuchphila.org/. This is one of the oldest churches in the US, founded in 1695 and called, "The Nation's Church" because of the many Revolutionary leaders who worshipped there. At 3:00, we will go to the Independence Seaport Museum, Penn's Landing, 211 South Columbus Blvd & Walnut Street, Philadelphia, PA 19106, 215-413-8655, http://www.phillyseaport.org/. The cost is: $12 for adults, $10 for seniors 65+, children, students and military and there is a $2 discount for AAA and WHYY members. At 6:00, we will go up to the Second Floor Terrace of the Independence Seaport Museum and get a great view of the fireworks. Bring water, lunch, snack and dinner. New Year's Eve
Monday December 31 5:45 pm Fireworks and Dinner We will meet at 5:45 pm at the foot of the Walnut Street bridge at Front and Walnut at the seating area next to the Independence Seaport Museum to view the fireworks. Afterwards we will go out to dinner. What we do next will be based on a consensus of the group, but this will probably include more fireworks at midnight. Afterwards, we will hike the flat Sussex Branch Rail Trail. Pack a picnic lunch, snacks and water. Wear layers of clothes. Bring hiking boots in case of light snow. Rodin Museum
Sunday January 6 11 am Trip to the Rodin Museum The museum features over 140 sculptures by French artist Rodin. We will meet in front of the museum at 2151 Benjamin Franklin Parkway at 11 am and may go out for lunch/dinner afterwards. For more information contact Janet at 215-673-9605.

Sculpture Walk/Fairmount Water Works Interpretive Center/Kelly and West River Drive Hike
Sunday January 13 12:00 noon Sculpture Walk/Fairmount Water Works Interpretive Center/Kelly and West River Drive Hike We will meet at 12:00 at the first sculpture, LOVE, JFK Plaza, 15th Street and JFK Blvd, Philadelphia, PA at 12:00. From there, we will walk down JFK Blvd and look at about 20 sculptures. We will arrive at the Fairmount Water Works Interpretive Center at 1:00 and walk through the exhibits. The cost is free. At 2:30, we will continue on our sculpture walk down Kelly Drive, a little ways past the Girard Bridge to see another 20 sculptures. Then we will backtrack a bit and walk over the scenic Girard Bridge and walk West River Drive back. Pack a picnic lunch, snacks and water. Wear layers of clothes. Philadelphia Orchestra
Saturday February 23 4:15 pm Philadelphia Orchestra The performance features the orchestra and dancers, and will be playing Stravinski's Rite of Spring and Ravel's Piano Concerto in G Major. We will meet in front of the box office of the Kimmel Center at Broad and Spruce at 4:15 pm to buy rush tickets for the concert, which starts at 8 pm.
