Mario Lanza Museum/Mother Bethel AME Church/War Memorials
Wednesday January 23 11:00 am Mario Lanza Museum/Mother Bethel AME Church/Vietnam Memorial/Korean War Memorial/Irish Famine Memorial/Philadelphia's Magic Gardens (if time)/Free Opening Reception of Marcellus Sharle Documentary Project We will meet at 11:00 at the Mario Lanza Museum, 712 Montrose St, Philadelphia, PA 19147, 215-238-9691, www.mariolanzainstitute.org. We will go on a self-guided tour. The cost is free. At 2:00, we will take a tour of Mother Bethel AME Church, 419 South 6th Street (between Lombard & Pine Streets), Philadelphia, PA 19147, 215-925-0616, www.motherbethel.org. Mother Bethel was founded by former slaves, Richard and Sarah Allen, who were abolitionists and also helped save Philadelphia during the Yellow Fever Epidemic. The cost is free. If there is time, we will go to Philadelphia's Magic Gardens, 1020 South Street, Philadelphia, PA 19147, 215-733-0390, www.philamagicgardens.org. Philadelphia's Magic Gardens are the indoor exhibit of Master Mosaicer Isaiah Zagar. Afterwards, we will check out his wife's store of folk art down the street at 402 South Street. The cost is $7 for adults and $5 for students and seniors. At 5:00, we will go to the Vietnam, Korean and Irish Famine Memorials on Front & Spruce Streets, Philadelphia, PA. At 6:00, we will go to the Marcellus Sharle Documentary Project and free reception. The Marcellus Sharle is about 6 photographers who show the impact of natural gas drilling around Marcellus Shale in Northeastern PA. This event is held at the YMHA, Borowsky Gallery, 401 S. Etra Lake Park
Saturday January 26 9:30 am Etra Lake Park We will meet at 9:30 at Etra Lake Park, Milford and Etra Roads, East Windsor, NJ 08520 in the parking lot for a flat, easy to navigate hike on a 2 mile trail. Pack a picnic lunch, water and snacks. At 1:00, we will go to the Princeton Library to see the film "Cape Spin: An American Power Struggle." At 4:00, we will see the film "Passive Passion." Mountain Lakes Hike

Pack water and snacks. At 6:00, we will go to the Princeton Library to see the film, "Shellshocked: Saving the Oysters to Save Ourselves." University of Pennsylvania Museum
Sunday February 10 12 noon View Roman Mosaics at University of Pennsylvania Museum Come view a 2000 year old Roman mosaic unearthed in Lod, Israel. There will be a lecture related to the mosaic at 2 pm. The museum also features other historical exhibits. We will meet at 12 noon in front of the museum, and will go out for dinner at a local Indian buffet afterwards. In case of inclement weather, please call in advance. Sculpture Walk and Philadelphia Art Museum
Wednesday February 13 11:00 am Sculpture Walk and Philadelphia Art Museum We will meet at 11:00 for the sculpture walk at the entranceway to the Waterworks Museum, which is behind the Art Museum's back parking lot. We will walk down Kelly drive, past the bridge and then go back and over the East Falls Bridge and loop back on Martin Luther King Drive. At 5:00, we will go to the Philadelphia Museum of Art, 2600 Benjamin Franklin Parkway Philadelphia, PA 19130215-235-7469, www.philamuseum.org, for Pay What You Wish Day. The evening ends at 8:45. Philadelphia Flower Show
Sunday March 10 12 noon Philadelphia Flower Show This year’s theme is "Brilliant”, featuring floral designs from England. Tickets at the door are $32 for adults, $22 for students, and $17 for children. You can also buy tickets online at $27 for adults, $20 for students, and $15 for children. We will meet at 12 noon in front of the Chinese soup bowl sculpture on the first floor of the left building as you face the convention center at 12th and Arch, and afterwards we will go out for dinner in Chinatown.
